Filimão is 18 years old and he’s in the S. Vicente de Paulo UPG Sponsoring program. Like so many other, he’s father is deceased, and he lives with his mom and an ailing grandmother. The family’s only source of income is the farming plot (machamba).
Despite all the difficulties, Filimão is always happy and has a “knack” for sports. His favourite sport is football, and he’s even the captain of S. Vicente de Paulo school team. Recently, he discovered a new passion – Scotani, a traditional regional dance performed by boys. Filimão is already a volunteer teacher of Scotani and has been teaching the dance to the younger children in after-School Support at SVP.
