After the conclusion of another school year, S. Vicente de Paulo and Santa Luísa de Marillac schools are now taking stock of how ALG projects did during the year. ALG finances the After-School Support at these two schools. This initiative contributes to improve the school performance of UPG Portugal Sponsored children by promoting areas such as reading, writing, maths, spelling, and citizenship.

ALG’s After-School Support has the main goal of improving the academic results of vulnerable children and helping them through their difficulties.

But it goes far beyond that, focusing on female empowerment, this project’s goal is the education, training, and financial literacy of women, strengthening self-confidence, reducing gender inequalities and incentivizing women and children to stand up and fight for their rights.

Having greater skills will give them more power and control over their own lives.
