In the Gaza Province, 39% of the population is illiterate. These illiteracy rates have a direct impact on children and their households, with many Guardians not understanding, speaking, or writing Portuguese language. ⠀
Thus, for the children without academic support at home and who struggle to achieve academic success, ALG provides initiatives and activities to promote the use of Portuguese language.
An example of these was the distribution of books, in partnership with Plural Editora. Rafael Mundlovo was one of the youngsters benefiting from this initiative.
With these books, Rafael’s leisure time will also be a learning moment and his smile shows how happy he is.
