Due to the pandemic, the communities’ vulnerability increased significantly. After most families lost their jobs and their main income source, families faced more difficulties accessing food products.
ALG delivered sweet potato and corn seeds to support families’ food security. These seeds do not require much water and can be planted in the families’ vegetable hut (“machamba”) or the small plots of land surrounding fanily homes.
As the time to harvest has arrived, the beneficiary Maila Mucavel (12-years-old) and her family shared their big corn cob. These were apparently the best corn seeds they ever ate as confirmed by ALG’s Local Technician Orcídio! Families are happy with the corn quality that they are now eating.
This initiative had a total cost of 96’285MTN fully financed by ALG.
