In Xai-Xai

Today, it is the city of Xai-Xai which is severely threathened by the rains. The houses are flooded and the river Limpopo is twice its usual height, according to ALG Local technicial, Helder.    

The situation is extremely concerning and many families of the children of Escolinha do André have been evacuated from their homes.  The “refuge” center is in Marien Ngouabi, a higher zone of the city, where ALG supports pre-school Escolinha Flor da Infancia.    

In the city, the scenario is disastrous, as the families seek to escape to the low areas carrying all their possessions.
